Endurance Injera

This is the first painting in the group having the theme of discs. The discs in the paintings of Degaffe were originally inspired by injera, the traditional flatbread of Ethiopia made from teff. In later works, the disc evolves into a concept that represents the thoughts, concepts, ideas, and dreams that occupy our minds. The mountainous background represents the influence of Alpine landscape.
